It's a phone call no one wants to receive, but one we will all receive once or twice in our lives. Last night about 10:00 my father telephoned from Belgium (where he and my mom serve as church planting missionaries). On their way home from Sunday services, my mom experienced numbness on the right side of her body.
Hospital tests revealed that mom had experienced a minor stroke, also called a TIA. Thankfully TIAs are not considered serious in and of themselves, but they can indicate more serious problems.
Would you please pray for Molly (Molly Mckenna's namesake, by the way), as she continues to undergo medical tests this week? Pray that the initial diagnosis will be confirmed and that doctors can develop a treatment plan that will help prevent additional strokes. Thanks!
No other country in Eastern Europe has seen as much progress for the Kingdom of God as Ukraine over the last decade. This is the result of the faithfulness of dedicated national church leaders and gifted missionaries working together.
The Alliance has the privilege of working with a marvelous team of Ukrainians and expats who have a passionate vision to see Ukraine filled with churches. One of those missionaries is Paul Logan. Paul is an American sent to Ukraine by Youth with a Mission. Here's a picture of Paul, Scott Friderich (Budapest teammate) and I having coffee together . . .
Paul's team has a great vision, but they don't have enough resources to see it fulfilled, so we're hoping to help them beginning this fall. Scott and I will be traveling to Ukraine later this month to further hammer out our cooperative effort. Would you pray for us? For specific requests, see the Prayer Wish List to the right.
